December News
Hello families! I hope you all enjoyed your snow day and did something fun. We are reading interesting selections in Reading Street about patterns in nature. The students did agreat job on their book projects and have been reading alot of minutes for the Book It Program. Everyone is so happy to have the school library open again thanks to the volunteers! We are working on Division strategies in Go! Math and will test Chapter 4 before the Holiday Break. Many students have taken advantage of the extra credit reteach or challenge worksheets for each lesson that I have given out. The class is enjoying science with Mr. MacFarland for the next 4-5 weeks. The Holiday Shop at school is open next week. Our shopping day is Monday. Interims are posted on Progress Book since last Friday. The class will be having a Holiday Party on December 20 @ 1:45-2:30. The Room Mom will send home information soon. That's all for now. Stay warm, it's cold out there!

November 2013
Hello families!
I enjoyed meeting with so many of you for conferences. I hope you enjoyed viewing the Native American projects that the students completed for Social Studies. They did a wonderful job! Fourth grade has been very busy in Go! Math learning how to multiply multi-digit numbers and will move into division in a few weeks. We will be completing our second unit in Reading Street about Teamwork in a few weeks as well. I am pleased to see the progress in writing on the weekly prompt. The children enjoy using the new Sleuth Books that have been added to the program this year. We are all very excited about having library every Monday! This month we are completing a Book Report and Project and are logging our 20 minutes of reading for the Book-It Program. Last Friday we enjoyed a Veteran's Day program that honored our local veterans. Thanksgiving will be here before you know it. I hope you have a peaceful celebration with family and friends. There is much to be thankful for in our lives. As always I am thankful for your wonderful children that I get to work with every day!
